Was meint Ihr dazu, Kleidungsstücke anderer Kulturen an den eigenen Geschmack anzupassen?

Baci

Styling for Autumn: Japanese Kimono made into a Jacket
Outside Japan the Kimono (Gofuku) is commonly associated with heavy silk fabric in a flower pattern with bright colors. Indeed the garment for women nearly always is bright, but comes in all traditional Japanese patterns. The Kimono for men has darker colors and not much of a pattern. I own several (all shortened to jacket), but this is the only one suitable for cooler temperatures, as it is made of a tight crêpe, presumably a wool mix, with metal thread in a light icy blue weaved in.
Although it has a black ground, it surely was a woman's garment.
Detail of the pattern - a quite perturbing winter wood, if it wasn't for the icy blue metallic weave and the bushes in pale pink and light grey-brown.
The striking design isn't asking for accessories - I just wear it with Aquamarine drop earrings.
Traditionally it would be closed by a belt, but I prefer to use a crochet flower in the same icy blue and black - a personal detail, not approved by my kins ;-)
I hope this post is an encouragement to integrate garments of other cultures into our western wardrobe - as an enrichment and in the sign of globalization.

In seguito alcune cose particolari che ho trovato
--------

November in Milan - Charity FleaMarket Time
This month traditionally is charity flea market time here in Milan. Churches, humanitarian associations and private institutions - all collect for months things old and new, classy and kitsch, from H&M to Chanel, to present them right before Christmas to an avid public.
Generally, Milanese women don't really appreciate Vintage, but as it's for a good cause, there are crowds everywhere. And very often designers donate their unsold stock, so it's not unusual to find fairly recent items, too.
Nearly every day a new one opens, so it's a busy month for me.
I have already found lots of interesting items to add to my stock - who knows where I will put that all......
Here some pictures the variety of possible finds:
early '70 stringed wedges
black crocodile skin shoulder bag with leather lining, marked Mauro Governa (1980/90)
purple suede Tango sandals, made in Argentina, by GRETAFLORA, on a
late '70 silk jersey afternoon dress
black dress suit made of Silk and STRAW FABRIC by historic Italian brand ODICINI. The jacket is just fabulous!!! It comes with chunky '80 buttons which fortunately can be detached.
70' dark brown leather jacket - not sure about the buttons too, here. Think I will change them.
Mutzo finds that all so boring, yawn.......
