Different techniques to do the right edge in crochet
——————————————————————————————
These are the ones I find most useful generally, and they are all easy.
Right edge
I usually do the right edge stitch without an adjacent single crochet that still counts as edge stitch - but for your comfort you could add one - this means you have to add one stitch to all counts
Exact explanation with the pictures
--
Ra) - doing the edge stitch with two chains, so in the next row you can go in the space they form for the edge stitch. This creates a very elastic but bulky edge see pictures 1) to 6)
Rb) - you can also do just one chain, this edge is less bulky, but for some yarns and ways of crocheting (not elastic fibres, and if you use to work in very loose stitches) the edge could result shorter than the work see pictures 7) to 12)
Rc) - like Rb, but you do the chain with the doubled up yarn, results in a mildly bulky, very secure edge, see pictures 13) to 20)
Rd) - you can achieve a similar zigzag effect like in Lb, if you work one or two chain with the loose end, not tightening too much while weaving in - see pictures 21) to 25)
